Hobbs & Shaw’s Deckard May Still Pay A Steep Price For Han’s Death

At this point, the Fast and the Furious franchise has endured for nearly two decades, but many characters have been lost along the way. One of the most notable casualties is Han Lue (Sung Kang), who was murdered in cold blood by Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in 2006’s Tokyo Drift. Many fans are still reeling from this character’s tragic demise, which resulted in some mixed feelings when Shaw was given a sympathetic spinoff (Hobbs & Shaw). This has caused some outraged fans to demand #Justice4Han—and Hobbs & Shaw co-writer Chris Morgan seems willing to grant their wish… eventually.

“Well, the only thing I’ll say about that is, listen, I came in on Tokyo Drift,” he told Comicbook.com. “I’m a huge fan of that character, and Sung Kang. And you’re right… over the course of the films, there’s a big arc, and a debt that’s owed. And I would just say for an audience, everybody involved in the films loves all of our characters. We’re aware of all the character arcs, and what needs to get paid and where we’re going. And I would just say to an audience, just wait. Just hold on. Not a real comment beyond that, other than, we love the characters just like you do.”

Hobbs & Shaw arrives on Blu-ray next week. Check out the trailer below.
